I went to this fair last year, and I was overwhelmed by the amount of information and knowledge collected into one place. Tens of thousands of people come together in one place to talk about alternative energy solutions. There are 15 simultaneous workshops every hour from 8-5 each of the three days, and those running the workshops represent the best knowledge and cutting edge technology in their fields. Also there are tons of vendor booths with product displays.

If you have an interest in off-grid living, then you really should make an attempt to attend. Now is probably the best time to book your hotel because the town is swamped during the Fair.

Please post in this thread if you are going to be there. I'll be there Friday/Saturday (June 18-19). I'd like to organize a GIM meet-up maybe on Saturday for lunch somewhere in Stevens Point.

BTW... maybe this thread doesn't really fit into "survival". Should we have a "Alternative Energy" subforum within the General Discussion forum? It seems like there are quite a few threads of this nature.
